GARDENING IN SMALL SPACES:

PATIOS and CONTAINERS

Monday March 19, 2:00 – 3:00 pm

Northeast, North Star and Eastside Villages are partnering to coordinate a series of presentations for our combined membership.  This month, NEV is pleased to host Patty Cassidy, author of The Age-Proof Garden and The Illustrated Practical Guide to Gardening for Seniors.  Patty will speak about patio and container gardening at the Belmont Library.  Novice and experienced gardeners are welcome.  A question and answer period will follow her presentation.

Patty combines over 35 years of professional experience as a mental health counselor, educator, Master Gardener, and registered horticultural therapist.  She sits on the national board of the American Horticultural Therapy Association.  Her current work as a horticultural therapist is a natural extension of her training and experience as a counselor and her lifelong love of gardening

In addition, for the past seven years, Patty Cassidy has presided as president of the Friends of the Portland Memory Garden, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of individuals with memory disorders and their caregivers by maintaining the Portland Memory Garden and providing therapeutic and educational activities.
