
Volcanoes! A Mount St. Helens-Inspired Experience

Join “Oregon Field Guide” and OPB’s Science and Environment team for a day at OMSI featuring Native storytelling, rock collections, art, interactive displays, volcano robots, local experts and more.
Schedule of events:
4:30 pm: OMSI’s Auditorium: Hear stories and lore about Mount St. Helens, with the Cowlitz Tribe, artist Ellen Morris Bishop, collector Ian Madin, the Cascade Volcano Observatory, the Mount St. Helens Institute and ‘Rock Star’ Scott Burns.
7 pm: OMSI’s Empirical Theater: Learn about volcanoes on the big screen with OPB’s “Oregon Field Guide” and “All Science. No Fiction” series. Please reserve your ticket online.
Enjoy a screening of “All Science. No Fiction’s” “Can we predict volcanic eruptions” and “Oregon Field Guide’s” “Unearthing Mount St. Helens Mysteries,” followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A.
Events are free and open to the public, but tickets are required for the screening event.
