This Chair Rocks: A Manifesto Against Ageism
Author Appearance by Ashton Applewhite
Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m.
Author Ashton Applewhite says her book “charts my journey from apprehensive boomer to pro-aging radical and proposes an alternative to all the hand-wringing: wake up, cheer up, and push back.” According to North Star Village member Iris Wernher, “This book poignantly addresses many of the stereotypes about age and aging that we - as individuals and as a society - recreate and are confronted with every day.”
The book event will be held at Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing, 3415 SW Cedar Hills Blvd., Beaverton, OR 97005. You can go on your own, but if you want to carpool, contact Liz Kennedy at lizkennedy@wscribe.com or 316-686-0486 as soon as possible. A week before the event, she’ll email everyone who contacted her with a list of who else is going, so you can see if you can arrange to go together
